    Description

The European Commission funds this Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action to make climate scenarios more robust, inclusive and useful for decision-making. Projects should improve Integrated Assessment Models or develop alternative approaches that extend scenarios beyond the 21st century, broaden future narratives and drivers, and explicitly consider equity, justice, geopolitics and environmental priorities. Intended users include policymakers, planning authorities, businesses and civil society.

Proposals must select one of three priority areas: integrating climate impacts and adaptation into mitigation pathways, improving scenario frameworks, or improving policy representation and implementation. The topic requires relevant social sciences and humanities expertise and promotes transdisciplinary collaboration, stakeholder co-design and better communication. Its goals include more globally representative scenarios, stronger connections between climate and biodiversity assessments, and more actionable evidence for climate-resilient development.
