    Description

BiodivFuture is the sixth annual European Commission co-funded research call run by Biodiversa+, the European Biodiversity Partnership. It supports future-looking research and innovation on biodiversity, novel ecosystems, and their socio-ecological consequences in relation to the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Research may investigate drivers, biological responses, opportunities, risks, and trade-offs across terrestrial, freshwater, marine, and coastal environments worldwide.

The call seeks novel, high-quality transnational research using holistic, systemic, and integrated approaches with societal and policy relevance. Knowledge generated should guide actions that sustain resilient, interconnected, diverse, and ecologically functioning ecosystems that benefit people and protect nature. Projects may address one or more of three themes: novel ecosystem functioning, pathways to novel ecosystems under uncertainty, and fair and equitable sharing of biodiversity benefits.
