This European Commission Horizon Europe topic supports the Cancer Mission through pre-commercial procurement (PCP). It funds consortia of procurers with shared needs to commission affordable, cost-efficient and safe innovations for people living with and beyond cancer. Projects may improve a specific technology or medical device, combine innovations into end-to-end solutions, or adapt solutions from other sectors to healthcare.
Participative research and sustained engagement with patients, carers, clinical teams and other end-users should guide development. The programme seeks clinically validated solutions, first pilot deployments and customer references that help suppliers commercialise successful innovations. It also supports the exchange of good practices and technical assistance or capacity building so healthcare systems and procurers beyond the funded consortium can adopt successful approaches.
