This topic supports Common Procurement Actions under the European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP), managed by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS). It aims to strengthen cooperation among EU Member States and EDIP associated countries, fill defence capability gaps, and increase interoperability through procurement of common platforms and subsystems.
Supported capabilities include artillery, mobility and counter-mobility platforms, tanks and other armoured vehicles, support vehicles, combat platforms, soldier systems, and surface and underwater naval platforms or subsystems. Activities may cover any point in a product’s life cycle, including establishing, managing and maintaining defence industrial readiness pools. Procurement may use a framework contract and may involve newly established cooperation or an eligible existing cooperation framework.
