Description
This opportunity funds the continuation and expansion of the European Partnership for Pandemic Preparedness, aiming to build a robust and coordinated European network for pandemic research and response. The partnership will integrate clinical research networks, address research and infrastructure gaps, develop evidence-based strategies, and foster a comprehensive knowledge framework for pandemic response. Activities are expected to enhance collaboration among EU and national entities, scientific communities, policymakers, and funders, with a One Health approach considering environmental and societal health threats.
Key priorities include:
- Expanding and coordinating clinical research networks and infrastructures.
- Supporting transnational research and capacity building, including countries not yet involved.
- Promoting synergies with other EU health and digital programs (e.g., EU4Health, Digital Europe).
- Ensuring alignment with the European Health Data Space and Open Science Cloud for secure, harmonised research data access.
- Encouraging engagement with start-ups, SMEs, and innovators.
- Supporting the translation of research outcomes into policy and practice.
- Adopting open science and gender equality best practices.
The grant is implemented as a Programme Cofund Action (COFUND) under Horizon Europe.
