The Evans Undergraduate Research Grant is administered by the SDMS Foundation and made possible by a donation from Dr. Kevin and Kathy Evans. It supports undergraduate projects led by students in bachelor’s degree programs in sonography or related disciplines. Supported work may be a literature review or original research on a topic that is unique and relevant to the profession and the Foundation.
The program combines research funding with education and mentorship throughout the project. An educational program must support the work, and a designated mentor assists the student in completing it, including periodic check-ins. Recipients submit their completed findings as a manuscript to the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JDMS) for possible publication.
