Key Information: Organizers must be ISHR members; events that have already taken place cannot receive support.
The International Society for the History of Rhetoric (ISHR) offers Event Support Grants to help its members organize small gatherings held in person or in a hybrid format. The program provides financial assistance for events rather than individual research projects, with support directed toward gatherings that have yet to take place.
ISHR runs the program on a fiscal-year basis and can support five events each year, or more depending on the amounts requested. Applications are timed around the Society’s periodic Council meetings. Researchers considering an event should plan their request in advance, because retrospective support is not available.
