    Description

Eversight’s Eye & Vision Research Grants provide seed support to develop promising ideas, collect initial data, conduct pilot projects, and undertake preliminary laboratory work that could lead to larger private or governmental grants. The program supports young investigators and established researchers pursuing new directions, rather than supplementing research already funded.

Research priorities include vision problems, particularly studies using human ocular tissue—cornea, other anterior segment structures, posterior segments, and optic nerve—and work concerning corneal surgery, corneal disease, or innovation in eye banking practices. Eversight prioritizes proposals with the greatest potential to advance scientific knowledge about the causes and treatments of visual disorders or eye bank practices. Its independent, volunteer Research Review Committee evaluates proposals, with final funding decisions made by Eversight’s Board of Directors.
