Description
Evidence-based Programming (EBP), administered by the Tennessee Office of Criminal Justice Programs (OCJP), funds the implementation or enhancement of programming for inmates in local jails. The program aims to improve access to the knowledge, skills, and resources needed for successful reentry into local communities, reduce recidivism, and strengthen meaningful collaboration between jails and community partners.
Supported programming may address education, vocational training, mental health, substance abuse rehabilitation, and healthy relationships. Evidence-based programs are those shown through scientific research to reduce recidivism and increase an individual’s likelihood of success after release. Agencies using these funds to implement evidence-based programs must select recognized programs rated “Highest Rated” or “Second Highest Rated” by the Results First Clearing House for correctional facility settings.
