Description
Caltech’s Student-Faculty Programs Office administers the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships Exchange Programs to broaden undergraduates’ experience through research in another academic environment and life in another culture. The office currently administers one exchange program, with the University of Iceland. The exchange is intended to help students prepare for careers involving international cooperation and collaboration.
Participants are matched with faculty mentors, develop project plans with them, and conduct full-time research for ten weeks. They submit interim reports, an abstract, and a final technical paper, and present their work at Caltech’s fall seminar day. Caltech separately coordinates the summer research aspects of the Caltech-Cambridge Exchange Program through its Fellowships and Study Abroad Office.
