Description
Philanthropic Ventures Foundation’s Excursion Grants support one-day classroom trips designed to open new vistas to students at low-income public schools. The program serves TK–12 teachers in five Bay Area counties and covers practical costs that can make off-campus experiences possible, including transportation, admission fees, and food. Examples include visits to the beach or a museum, bay ferry rides, and hikes.
The program helps teachers provide enriching experiences beyond students’ everyday school setting and teach outside the restrictions of the classroom. Teachers working at the same grade level are encouraged to apply together to maximize the resource. The program is made possible by funding from The Geballe Family and the Maxwell | Hanrahan Foundation.
