Description
The Japan Foundation’s Exhibitions Abroad Support Program provides financial support to museums and art institutions outside Japan that introduce Japanese art and culture to international audiences. It also supports international exhibitions held outside Japan, such as biennials and triennials, that present Japanese artists and their works.
The program contributes toward selected exhibition-related expenses rather than the full cost of an exhibition. Support covers portions of packing and shipping, catalogue production—including digital catalogues—and travel for dispatched or invited artists, curators, and specialists. The current cycle covers exhibitions opening between April 1, 2027 and March 31, 2028, with eligible expenses incurred and paid within that same period.
