Description
This initiative from the NSF Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) seeks to expand the geographic and institutional diversity of research and innovation in the field. It encourages both new proposals and supplemental funding requests from institutions eligible under the Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR). The goal is to increase the representation and competitiveness of organizations from EPSCoR jurisdictions in the national research landscape.
The program supports a broad range of activities, including:
- Research proposals to CISE core and cross-cutting programs
- Infrastructure investments to build research capacity
- Scholarships, fellowships, and traineeships
- Partnerships and collaborations (especially between EPSCoR and non-EPSCoR institutions, with EPSCoR institutions as lead)
- Capacity-building efforts for Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) and Emerging Research Institutions (ERIs) within EPSCoR jurisdictions
