Experience Support Grant Program supports Michigan organizations outside the arts sector with public cultural programming, facilities, training, and field trips to expand access to arts and culture.

Funding Amounts: Up to $53,000 per organization across four categories for January 1–December 31, 2027; minimum 25% cash match
Summary: Supports public arts and cultural experiences offered by Michigan organizations whose primary mission is outside arts and culture.
Key Information: Only one FY27 MACC application per organization; Experience Support applicants cannot also apply for Mission Support or Partnership funding.
Description
The Experience Support Grant Program provides arts and culture-related funding to Michigan organizations whose main mission is not arts and culture. Run by the Michigan Arts and Culture Council (MACC), the program aims to expand access to creative expression and cultural participation while helping communities realize the civic, economic, and educational benefits of arts and culture.
Support covers the production, presentation, and creation of public arts and cultural experiences, facility improvements and equipment, arts-related development for organizational personnel, and transportation for cultural field trips. Project Support can fund a single-day event or programming throughout the grant period. For PreK–12 schools, public access means programming open to any student attending the school; previous Arts in Education project applicants should apply through Project Support.
