Key Information: Applicants must be EPS ordinary members, and proposed work cannot be central to an already-funded project or PhD.
The Experimental Psychology Society (EPS) Small Grants scheme supports ordinary members pursuing small-scale research projects involving one or more empirical studies. Funding can cover part-time research assistance and other directly incurred research expenses. Projects must have specific aims and objectives, and applicants are encouraged to involve undergraduate or postgraduate students on an ad-hoc basis.
The EPS Committee prioritises high-quality projects, considering experimental design and the adequacy of statistical power while recognising the circumstances of exploratory research, method development and difficult data collection. Preference is given to first-time applicants, researchers early in their careers and/or without current grant funding, and projects involving students. Relevant open science practices, including preregistration, are welcomed but not required.
