Description
The Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) offers Exploratory Micro Research Grants to promote diversity within its membership and encourage creative ideas from members who do not typically receive major research awards. The program supports both research and non-traditional activities, including education, advocacy, quality and safety improvement, surgeon observerships from under-resourced countries, resident or student research, and medical mission travel. Projects from smaller institutions that rarely obtain larger SRS grants are also encouraged.
The program prioritizes work that advances care for patients with spinal deformity. Applications are assessed for scientific merit, feasibility, meaningful results, and a reasonable budget. Projects may be new or already in progress. The SRS research agenda is not exhaustive, and other areas of spinal pathology research may be considered.
