Description
The Explorers Club Impact Grants support explorers and scientists conducting field expeditions around the world. The program considers biological sciences, archaeology, anthropology, paleontology, earth sciences, ecology, and astronomy, as well as exploration that reveals new knowledge about the planet and its inhabitants. Projects may include laboratory components, but must be largely expedition-based. Work in regions undergoing significant environmental or cultural change is within scope.
Storytelling is central to the program: projects should combine outstanding science or exploration with a compelling, timely, and potentially impactful story for a global audience. The Club works with grantees on web content, potential television programming, and other coverage. Adventure linked to genuine conservation or scientific objectives is considered, but projects focused purely on adrenaline sports or physical feats are not.
