Description

The Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) supports young leaders interested in exploring Christian ministry as a vocation. Ministry Exploration and Mentoring Projects connect participants with congregations in communities they want to serve, broaden their understanding of what they might do through the church, and introduce traditional and innovative models of ministry. Mentoring relationships with pastoral leaders help participants reflect on their experiences and discern next steps in preparation for ministry.

Projects may include visiting pastoral leaders and faith communities, undertaking a short internship with a congregation, or attending a ministry network gathering or training. Participants can also explore topics such as food justice or the environment, or approaches such as art therapy or hip hop aesthetic. The emphasis is on learning how church leaders and faith communities participate in God’s work in the world and considering how that learning informs an ongoing call to ministry.
