Description
Gilead Sciences' Externally Sponsored Research program provides funding and/or study drug support for independent research projects that address clinical questions relevant to Gilead's therapeutic areas, including HIV, viral hepatitis, emerging viruses, fungal diseases, oncology, and inflammatory/fibrotic diseases. The program encompasses both Investigator Initiated Research (IIR), where external researchers lead and sponsor the study, and Collaborative Research, which involves direct engagement from Gilead in aspects such as study design, protocol development, and data analysis.
Researchers may apply through specific Request for Proposal (RFP) Programs or propose their own concepts aligned with Gilead’s scientific priorities. RFPs may focus on unmet needs in specific populations, innovative methods for screening and care, or community-based participatory research. The program aims to generate high-quality evidence to inform clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
