Description
FAB Newport is a Real Skills for Youth partner program supported by Rhode Island’s Governor’s Workforce Board through the Department of Labor and Training. It helps young people in Newport County explore careers, develop workplace skills, and prepare for education, training, or employment. Participants work on hands-on projects and paid experiences with guidance from mentors and program staff.
Youth ages 14–18 focus on career exploration and skills such as communication, teamwork, and professionalism. Those ages 19–24 can gain paid experience through employer-connected industry projects or internships while building job-ready and leadership skills. Pathways include engineering and design, entrepreneurship, sustainable agriculture, advanced manufacturing technology, education and youth development, and marketing.
