Description

This funding opportunity supports projects that develop innovative technologies and processes for de-manufacturing and re-manufacturing at the factory level, as part of the Made in Europe partnership under Horizon Europe. The aim is to advance circularity and resilience within European manufacturing industries by enabling the retention, reuse, upgrading, or adaptation of product functions. Projects are expected to focus on at least three of the following areas:

• Technologies for efficient part condition analysis and predictive maintenance (including for re-manufactured/lower-value components, using multimodal sensor data, AI, and human input)
• AI and robotic-assisted de-manufacturing (e.g., innovative end-effectors for handling, sorting, logistics)
• Model-based systems leveraging CAD data and digital twins
• Local (on-site) repair or re-manufacturing solutions for high-value components (e.g., wind turbines, aircraft, vessels)
• Solutions for planning operation sequences based on incoming product characteristics

Proposals must include a credible business case and exploitation strategy to demonstrate market impact and adoption potential. Contributions to skill development, standards, and safety measures for remanufacturing are also encouraged.
