Description
The Faculty Development Scheme (FDS), run by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council, develops individual academics’ research capability in Hong Kong’s self-financing degree-awarding institutions. It supports individual research projects that inform teaching and learning or discover new knowledge, enabling academic staff to bring research experience and findings into their educational work.
The scheme covers Biology & Medicine, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Business Studies, and Humanities & Social Sciences. All eligible academic staff, including junior academics, are encouraged to apply. Collaboration and experience-sharing with local or overseas senior scholars are encouraged, as is undergraduate participation in research.
