Description
The Schlumberger Foundation’s Faculty for the Future program supports women pursuing PhD studies and postdoctoral research at universities and research institutes outside their home countries. It addresses women’s underrepresentation in STEM, focusing on countries with a low United Nations Human Development Index. Physical Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics are particularly encouraged, alongside related and cross-disciplinary studies involving major STEM fields.
The fellowships connect advanced scientific training with socio-economic development in fellows’ home countries or regions. The program prioritizes research relevant to local needs and contributions through academic teaching and research, STEM entrepreneurship, and evidence-based policy making. Applicants are expected to demonstrate leadership, community outreach, and a record of encouraging young people—particularly girls and women—to enter STEM.
