Description
The Faculty Opportunity Awards program at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) provides seed funding to catalyze new research and creative activities across all academic disciplines. The primary aim is to help faculty and collaborative teams generate preliminary data, develop innovative project ideas, and prepare competitive proposals for external funding from federal agencies, foundations, or industry partners. Projects may be individual or interdisciplinary, spanning fields such as STEM, health, humanities, arts, and social sciences. Awardees are expected to use the funding to refine their research direction, identify potential funding sources, and submit at least two external grant proposals within a 24-month period, thereby enhancing UNLV’s research capacity and national profile.
