Description
The Faculty Research Grants program at Hobart and William Smith Colleges is designed to support faculty research and related scholarly activities. Administered by the Committee on Faculty Research and Honors and coordinated by the Office of Academic and Faculty Affairs (OAFA), the program is a central component of the Colleges’ funding framework for faculty. The initiative aims to foster a robust research environment, aligning with HWS’s commitment to promoting faculty academic pursuits and scholarship.
The program features two proposal cycles each academic year:
- Primary (spring) call for larger research proposals.
- Secondary (fall) call for new or time-sensitive projects, with a smaller funding pool.
Faculty Research Grants are coordinated alongside other OAFA programs, including professional development, student interaction, speaker/guest artist, and curriculum innovation funds.
