The Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs offers annual Faculty Research Grants through an endowment provided by Lt. Gen. Brent Scowcroft. Administered at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, the program supports Bush School and other Texas A&M faculty conducting policy-relevant research on various aspects of international affairs.
The grants advance the institute’s mission to foster and disseminate policy-oriented international affairs research. Funding preference goes to projects expected to produce publishable research in an academic or policy journal or book. Selection also considers the merit of the research topic and its potential contribution to scholarship. Publications resulting from supported research are shared with the institute and placed in the George Bush Presidential Library.
