Description
Western Washington University’s Faculty Summer Research Grant Program provides summer salary support for research, scholarly, and artistic or creative endeavors with strong potential to advance faculty members’ professional development and their fields. Funded by the Office of the Provost and administered through Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP), the program supports time for scholarly work rather than the development of curricular materials.
Projects should clearly explain their motivating need, question, problem, or creative context, their significance, and potential benefits to the discipline, students, community, or other stakeholders. The program emphasizes feasible summer activities, clear milestones and endpoints, and plans to share results with intended audiences. Outputs may include publications, exhibitions, performances, external grant proposals, datasets, manuscripts, or other scholarly products. An interdisciplinary faculty committee recommends awards for approval by the Vice Provost for Research.
