Description
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ Division of Care and Treatment Services supports implementation of Family Centered Treatment-Recovery (FCT-R), combining evidence-based Family Centered Treatment with best practices in substance use treatment. The program serves parents and caregivers with opioid use disorder and/or substance use disorder/mental health conditions, their children, and family members. It addresses substance misuse alongside the family systems and trauma histories that contribute to substance use disorder.
Funding supports intensive home- and community-based services integrating family interventions, trauma treatment, peer professionals, random drug screening, and contingency management. Priorities include staff certification, coordinated referrals across adult-, child-, and family-serving systems, and sustained programming. Intended outcomes include reduced substance use, mental health, and trauma symptoms, improved family functioning and treatment engagement, and fewer out-of-home placements.
