Description
The West Virginia Department of Human Services’ Bureau for Family Assistance funds Family Resource Networks (FRNs) to organize and coordinate community resources for children and families. FRNs assess needs and service gaps, bring families and local agencies together, and strengthen the use of family support and primary prevention services. They coordinate with direct-service providers rather than provide direct services themselves.
Funded work includes monthly stakeholder meetings, collaboration with family support programs, and activities that help communities pursue resources and address service gaps. FRNs also conduct health care outreach and enrollment support, provide information to Medicaid-eligible populations, and maintain a current digital resource guide for local Department offices and community partners.
