Description
The Kansas Governor’s Grants Program administers this grant to prevent family violence and provide immediate shelter and related assistance to victims and their dependents. Funding comes from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Administration for Children and Families. Supported work includes operating domestic violence programs and shelters, along with counseling, advocacy, and self-help services for victims and their children.
The Kansas Implementation Plan 2026–2029 guides funding priorities for FVPSA and three other victim-services programs. Applicants must connect their proposed work to at least one of the plan’s 14 priorities and show how they will reach underserved populations. The plan emphasizes accessible community-based services, stronger victim-support infrastructure, coordination across systems, public awareness, and a sustainable victim-serving workforce.
