Description
The American Astronomical Society’s FAMOUS Travel Grants help members attend Society meetings and present their research. The program aims to increase participation by astronomers from groups historically underrepresented in the field. It supports meeting attendance rather than the research itself, helping offset the practical costs of travel, meals, and lodging.
All AAS members are welcome to apply, but limited funds are prioritized for historically underrepresented groups. Examples include scientists at small colleges, minorities, non-traditional students, and veterans, among others. Each award supports attendance at a single AAS meeting where the recipient shares their research.
