The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) presents this award to celebrate philanthropy’s role in the region’s prosperity and recognize those whose charitable gifts have made an outsized difference. Established in 2016, it honors Jeff Chaddock and Mark Morrow’s visionary planned gift to support Appalachian Ohio and its nonprofit organizations. The award recognizes philanthropic impact rather than serving as a described source of project funding.
Honorees illustrate a broad range of giving, including community beautification and revitalization, economic development, environmental stewardship, education, services for seniors, support for children and families, and access to vision care. Their contributions include planned gifts, endowment funds, immediate charitable support and leadership in local philanthropy. The award also celebrates multigenerational generosity and investments that sustain nonprofit institutions and opportunities for future generations.
