Description
South Carolina Humanities supports public literary programming through Fast Track Literary Grants. Projects may be new or established and can take the form of writers series, book festivals, conferences, workshops, or writers’ residencies at schools. The program emphasizes literary experiences for public audiences rather than a particular genre or type of writer. An active humanities scholar—often an author—must help foster dialogue, analysis, and critical thinking.
The opportunity also receives support from the South Carolina Arts Commission, which receives funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. Fast Track Literary Grants have been limited since April 2025 because of a loss of federal funding.
