Description
The Fidelity Center for Applied Technology (FCAT), an innovation organization within Fidelity Investments, runs the University Research Awards to support pioneering academic work on technologies and trends that may shape financial services. FCAT collaborates with university researchers on investigations intended to inform future financial systems, product design and usability. Award recipients may have opportunities to present findings, receive industry feedback and collaborate on applied technology prototypes.
The 2026 research themes addressed adaptation to artificial intelligence; explainability, observability and monitoring of generative AI in financial services; savings and investments in the age of AI agents; and security, forensics and oversight of autonomous AI agents. FCAT considers traditional research, ambitious new ideas and novel applications of technology within its published themes.
