Description
The Sundance Institute Feature Film Program (FFP) is a globally recognized initiative supporting independent filmmakers at various stages of their careers and projects. The program offers a comprehensive suite of resources, including creative labs (such as the Screenwriters Lab and Screenwriters Intensive), year-round mentorship, fellowships, grants, and ongoing project support from development through distribution. The Development Track is the primary entry point for fiction feature screenwriters and writer-directors seeking support, and a single application automatically considers eligible projects for multiple labs and fellowships, including the Alfred P. Sloan Commissioning Grant.
FFP emphasizes original storytelling, risk-taking, and community, and is open to both U.S.-based and international filmmakers. Selected fellows benefit from intensive creative feedback, strategic support, and opportunities to connect with industry professionals and peers. Alumni have gone on to make award-winning films and receive ongoing support as their projects progress.
