Description
The Federal FY27 Clean Water Act Section 319(h) Grant supports work to prevent or reduce nonpoint source pollution in Texas rivers, lakes, and bays. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board administer the federal program; TCEQ directs applicants seeking the agricultural and silvicultural grants to the board’s separate Section 319(h) program.
TCEQ prioritizes projects that improve water quality or develop and implement watershed protection plans accepted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). These voluntary, locally guided plans identify pollution sources and measures to restore or protect waterways. Other eligible work includes education and outreach, pollution-reducing management measures, and protection of waters that are not impaired.
