WSSA Fellow Award honors weed science professionals for sustained contributions to research, education, programs and service, recognizing national or international leadership rather than funding projects.
Funder: Weed Science Society of America
Due Dates: November 16, 2026 (Nomination deadline)
Funding Amounts: Professional recognition rather than research project funding
Summary: Honors sustained, distinguished contributions and leadership in weed science and the Weed Science Society of America.
Key Information: Nominees must be current active WSSA members with at least 10 years of active membership.
The Weed Science Society of America (WSSA) Fellow Award recognizes active members for significant, meritorious contributions to weed science and the Society. It honors an established record of achievement and leadership rather than supporting a proposed research project. Contributions must span more than one area, including publications, education, improvements to weed science programs, practices or products, and professional service.
Administered through WSSA’s awards program and a dedicated Fellow Award subcommittee, the honor emphasizes contributions that distinguish a nominee as a national or international leader, beyond outstanding performance within an organization or region. The 2027 awards will be presented at WSSA’s annual meeting in Denver, Colorado.
