Description
The Fellow award within Blood Cancer United’s Career Development Program supports early-stage postdoctoral researchers pursuing academic careers in blood cancer research. It funds mentored basic or translational research directly relevant to hematologic malignancies and/or relevant premalignant conditions. Applicants should have demonstrated productivity and critical thinking during graduate studies and initial postdoctoral training; graduate training need not have focused on blood cancer.
The award centers on research training under a Sponsor with appropriate experience in blood cancer-relevant research. It provides salary support for the individual researcher rather than laboratory research funding. Through the broader Career Development Program, Blood Cancer United seeks to develop researchers who advance understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of blood cancers and improve patients’ quality of life.
