Description
The American Society of Transplantation (AST), through its Research Network, supports post-doctoral investigators developing careers in academic transplantation. The grants fund projects that provide a strong research training experience while advancing transplant science, immunobiology, or the treatment of transplant recipients. The program seeks research of high merit and broad impact, with particular emphasis on preparing applicants to develop independent research programs.
Applications may address any topic related to solid organ transplantation and must fall within basic, clinical, or translational science. Supported areas include graft dysfunction, immune mechanisms, organ utilization, post-transplant complications, patient experience, and disparities in transplant access and outcomes. Projects should address one or two focused questions and be feasible within the one-year award.
