The Howard Foundation Fellowships provide unrestricted support to early mid-career individuals pursuing innovative creative or scholarly projects in Writing for Performance, Choreography, and Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies. The goal is to enable recipients to devote significant time to advancing new work, whether or not in conjunction with sabbatical leave. The fellowship is not intended for publication subsidies, equipment purchase, or institutional program support. Recipients may use the award to supplement sabbatical leave or independently, with flexibility on how and when the funds are used (within four years of award).
