Description
Sandia National Laboratories offers postdoctoral fellowships combining scientific independence with research mentoring, advanced instruments, and professional development. Fellows conduct research supporting Sandia’s national security mission, collaborate with laboratory researchers, and prepare for independent research careers. Distinguished Level Fellowships—the Jill Hruby and President Harry S. Truman Fellowships—support self-directed work across Sandia’s mission areas.
Foundation Level Fellowships are discipline-specific appointments, generally allowing up to half of a fellow’s time for self-directed research alongside existing Sandia R&D projects. Fields include bioscience, data science, quantum information science, computational science, radiation effects, electrical and electromagnetic sciences, high energy density sciences, and pulsed power. Fellows work under staff mentors, with publication and conference dissemination expected in the computational, data science, quantum information, and Maxwell programs.
