Description
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship supports postdoctoral and experienced researchers from Germany across all disciplines. Funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, it enables extended research stays abroad with members of the Humboldt Network or recipients of selected international academic awards. Applicants choose their topic and host and develop their research proposal independently, agreeing the project and duration with the host before applying.
Selection emphasizes academic qualifications, original and innovative research, and prospects for academic development. The programme combines financial support with individual assistance, international networking, reintegration support in Germany and subsequent alumni opportunities. The Foundation expressly encourages applications from women and underrepresented groups and considers applicants’ personal and educational circumstances.
