Description
The French Institutes for Advanced Study (FIAS) Fellowship Programme supports high-quality, innovative research through international scientific residencies at seven institutes in Aix-Marseille, Cergy, Loire Valley (Orléans-Tours), Lyon, Montpellier, Nantes, and Paris. It welcomes scholars and scientists working across the social sciences and humanities, as well as other research fields interfacing with these disciplines.
Fellows pursue individual projects with academic freedom, supported by multidisciplinary cohorts and connections to local research centres and laboratories. The standard residency lasts ten months, from September through June. Established in 2020, the programme runs through the 2029–2030 academic year, with cofunding from France 2030 and the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action.
