Description
Fight for Sight and Prevent Blindness jointly run this award to support research investigating public health related to eye health and safety. The program provides funding for a public health research project seeking to end unnecessary vision loss, with priorities spanning the societal burden of eye disease, integration of screening and follow-up care with access to care, and evaluation of vision programs.
The award is named for Joanne Angle, who served on Prevent Blindness’s National Board of Directors and its Government Affairs and Audit committees, and also worked with the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO). It reflects Prevent Blindness’s commitment to promoting and sponsoring vision and eye health research.
