Description
The Montana Department of Commerce Film Office administers this competitive annual sponsorship through the Big Sky Film Grant Program. It supports film festivals, screening series, physical film tours and film-industry conferences, as well as one-time projects that add value to or sustain rural or independently owned theaters. Projects must use film to educate, inform, inspire or entertain attendees or participants.
The program aims to assist Montana communities and advance the state's economic and cultural objectives. Priorities include rural tourism and visitor dispersal, a skilled and sustainable workforce, a professional year-round film industry, community partnerships and business development. Funding is limited, and eligible applications are not guaranteed an award.
