Description
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Illinois EPA) offers financial support through its Brownfields Redevelopment Loan Program to assist with the investigation and remediation of brownfield sites—properties that are abandoned or underused due to actual or perceived environmental contamination. The program’s goal is to help communities return these sites to productive use, protecting public health and supporting local economic revitalization. Funding is available to municipalities and private parties who were not responsible for the contamination. Eligible projects include environmental site investigations, planning, and cleanup activities under the Illinois EPA’s Site Remediation Program (SRP).
