Description
The Fire Management Assistance Grant Program is a FEMA disaster assistance program presented in Florida by the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM). It supports states, local governments, and Indian tribal governments responding to fires on publicly or privately owned forests and grasslands that threaten destruction constituting a major disaster. Assistance reimburses actual eligible costs for wildfire response, including firefighting and emergency protective measures such as evacuations and sheltering.
Declaration decisions consider threats to lives and improved property, including critical infrastructure and critical watershed areas, available state and local firefighting resources, high fire danger conditions, and potential major economic impacts.
