Description
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) administers these grants in partnership with the Transportation Demand Management Technical Committee. The program supports projects that help people connect with fixed-route public transportation, including buses, ferries, rail, water taxis, tribal transit and rideshares.
Projects may coordinate shuttles, ride-hailing, vanpool, vanshare, carpool, bike-share, paratransit or demand-response options with public transportation. Other supported strategies include bicycle lockers, pavement striping, transit-pass subsidies and incentives, marketing, public education and parking management. Together, these approaches address the gap between a transit route and where a person’s journey begins or ends.
