Description
This program provides funding to U.S. institutions of higher education for the purchase of major research equipment or instrumentation that enhances their ability to conduct research and train scientists and engineers in fields important to the Department of Defense (DoD). The goal is to strengthen the research infrastructure and support education in science, mathematics, and engineering disciplines relevant to national defense priorities. Funding is intended for equipment that cannot typically be acquired through single-investigator research grants.
