Description
This opportunity, administered by the Office of Naval Research (ONR), aims to enhance the research and educational capabilities of Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Institutions (HBCU/MIs) in scientific and engineering fields critical to the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. The program specifically seeks to:
- Expand research capacity and infrastructure at HBCU/MIs.
- Foster innovative, collaborative research addressing naval science and technology (S&T) challenges.
- Increase student and faculty engagement in STEM disciplines relevant to defense missions.
Proposals must advance basic naval-relevant S&T, actively involve students, and expand institutional research capacity. Projects focused solely on non-research STEM activities are not eligible.
